Mista, also
known as Ryan Schmidt, is a 23-year-old Central Florida resident originally
from South Carolina. Mista has been
motivated by music his whole life. Some
of his early influences were: Eminem, Puff Daddy, Tupac, Jeezy, and Project
Pat, as well as oldies and Latin music.
Mista is also an avid Tech N9ne fan for his uniqueness and how he thinks
outside the box and raps about things that no one else does. Furthermore, he highly respects his Strange
Music Label for being one of the largest independent underground labels in the
genre.
Mista began to
free style in middle school in the lunchroom for all his peers. He began rapping in 2006 with the local group
Pitch Black South. Without a studio
available to them, they recorded in cars, garages, and in bedroom closets. Eventually he ventured off on his own and
started the Mista Movement.
In 2009, Mista united with a small
independent label, The Super Producers Label Group with J Dot and Kuntri Boi
leading the reigns. Under this label he
has released three solo projects, which includes his latest and biggest release
to date, No More Mista Nice Guy,
digitally mastered by the infamous John Blanche. According to Judith of Hip Hop Weekly,
“Mista’s explosive voice tears through an album full of futuristic bass banging beats.” This CD also comprises music with features from other artists such as
DaMeat, Brabo Gator, and Burga (a.k.a. Mr. Say My Name). In addition, this CD encompasses his
eclectic style of music from the R&B sounds of “Operator” to his upbeat
rapping in “Swerve” featuring Burga. ‘No More Mista Nice Guy’ can be found on
sites such as ITunes, CD Baby, and Reverbnation.
Mista is
currently performing live throughout the South East. In the past, he has opened
up for Burga, Nappy Roots, Tay Dizm, Bubba Sparxxx, and Young Jeezy.
The Mista Movement is not a show to miss, with his electrifying stage
presence and charismatic personality you will walk away a fan. So keep your eyes open for this Fl. artist
breaking through into the mainstream in 2013. 
i can testify to "Mista's" early enthusiasm and his natural born style at being a rap artist. I have enjoyed watching him grow into his music shoes and am so very proud of him. His songs are from his heart not his head, if something is bothering him he puts it to music as well as if there is something else he wants his fans to know, he puts it to music. He's a man of integrity and you know this because he travels with such a large possie! Go get him Mista Nice Guy ~ Lala Loves you!

ReplyDeleteFinding this on here is wild. Meeting Mista back in 2004 with PunchLynez and Killa13 (the majority of the original Pitch Black South) and working with all of them was an awesome time. We spent a lot of time together and put down just shy of 200 tracks (some before, with, and after me) before 2009. Several early mixtapes were released among friends, peers, and any stranger we could promote to. We'd unfortunately missed an opportunity to open for Flo Rida merely days before he was discovered by MTV and made his worldwide appearance. "Always on the grind" has always been the motto and always will be. Working with Mista and the rest of the original group was an experience to say the least and years of memories I'm confident I'll always call my favorite. Always knew if one of us were to make it it'd be Rico. Having all 3 of his recent mixtapes as well as almost all of our old albums, mixtapes, and freestyle tracks is a collection I'll treasure forever.
